NEGATIVE BENCH PRESS

• Spending lots of time under tension

• Strengthening the joints

COACHING POINTS:
• Hands a hands width past shoulder width
• Butt on bench, shoulders on bench, lower back arched
• Plant your feet
• Pull the bar apart to get lat tension
• Raise your chest to meet the bar, as you pull the bar down, and push it back up
•Lower the bar for 4 seconds

AVOID:
• Rounding shoulders
• Lowering the weight quickly
• Rushing between reps
• Loosing tension
